As a tourist attraction, Banyandah Alpacas is a perfect day trip for singles, couples, families with any age child and basically anyone that is an animal lover.
What Is Included
The price is so reasonable – just $5 – and for this you can hang out with the alpacas as long as you like! You can also attend educational tours, feed and pet the alpacas, shop in the adjacent store, enjoy teas and luncheon (for an extra fee) courtesy of Zesty Edibles, or even bring in your own refreshments if you prefer.
Pros
Not only is Banyanah Alpacas a fabulous destination to learn more about indigenous animal life in the area, but the nearby shop has divine merchandise that makes for perfect souvenirs and gifts. Stocked with arts and wearables made by local crafters, pick up fleece, tops, yarn, and even a pet alpaca (plus stud male services and/or breeding stock if you prefer)!
Cons
Be sure to call before driving out or planning a tour since Banyanah Alpacas is only open to visitors on certain days. How to get there
A familiarity with the area will be helpful if you plan to navigate your own way to Banyanah Alpacas, or you can sign up for a bus tour. Driving in from the north or south, you can use these directions.
North
From the north, travel along Bruce Highway and use the pineapple (it is quite large) as a signal to turn right (this is Exhibition Road). Then turn left (this is Power Road). Banyanah Alpacas paddocks will be on your right.
South
From the north, travel along Bruce Highway and take the Kandanga exit. Turn left on Kandanga, right on Power Road, and then Banyanah Alpacas paddocks will be on your left.
